ABOUT US
Southern Auto Body & Classics has been in the business since 1988. That's over 35 years of bodywork, paint, and restoration. Olaf Herrick opened his first shop back then, spent two decades building a reputation, sold it, and started fresh with what became Southern Classics.
The reputation followed him. It always does when the work speaks for itself.
THE BOSS 429
If you want to know what Olaf can do, look at the 1969 Boss 429. Ford needed to put the semi-hemi engine in a production car so they could race it in NASCAR. Only about 860 Boss 429s were ever made. Olaf restored one completely by hand. Wimbledon White. Every bolt, every panel, every detail brought back to factory-correct condition.
That's not just a car. That's a statement about the kind of work that happens here.

HOW WE WORK
Everything stays under one roof. Bodywork, paint, metal fabrication, mechanical. Our team handles it all in-house. For the few things that require a specialist, like acid-dipping a body shell or chroming trim, we rely on vendors we've trusted for decades. Your car is never handed off to strangers.
We take on everything from rare factory muscle cars to European exotics, daily drivers to weekend show cars. Full frame-off restorations, partial projects where another shop got in over their head, collision and insurance work, and custom paint that turns heads at any show field.
Walk in and Olaf will be the first one out to shake your hand. A restoration is a relationship. It takes time, it takes trust, and it takes honest communication every step of the way. That's how this shop has operated since 1988, and it's why most of our work comes through word of mouth.
